(Digital experience: Autodesk iPad 3D)
Autodesk 3D Design software can do amazing things. Specifically the construction of design and engineering projects with an ambition and complexity that couldn’t have been imagined before. Where every physical, structural, material and environemntal element can be planned ahead of time. In ways that people using traditional hand-drawing or previous design software couldn’t conceive of.
At least, that’s the pitch. But talk is cheap. If I want you to believe, I need you to see. That’s the purpose of the our Autodesk iPad experience. Which helps the non-user experience the power of Autodesk 3D design. By taking them on a virtual 3D tour of China’s Tianjin Port building which was designed and engineered with Autodesk products. In collaboration with Cooliris whose 3D engine “Immersive 3D ad (Currently Pulse3D)” is the core system of this 3D tour.
IMMERSIVE 3D EXPERIENCE
Scrolling through initial sketches to final prototypes of the building, viewers get to experience how Autodesk’s 3D technology enables them to visualize, analyze, and experience ideas before they’re real.
INTERACTION
You are then invited to explore the virtual 3D model of the building. Pinching and dragging allowed them to move around the entire perimeter and interior. Tilting the iPad allowed them to fly around the structure with a little more freedom to analyze every inch and angle of the structure.
The ad also included a brand video explaining how Autodesk technology allows people to design better solutions to their biggest design challenges.

This ad experience was part of the “Accelerating Better Design” branding campaign we at AKQA created for Autodesk.
It became one of the first rich experience ads on the iOS platform that went beyond traditional digital media ads.
